Our History

Our group was opened in 1965 to take the extra children from 1st Goring Scout Group as the Maybridge estate was being built. Our first meeting place was at St Richard’s Church Hall, until this was outgrown and in 1977 after much fundraising and hard work by the Leaders and parents, the Scout Group moved to it’s new Headquarters in Wavertree Road. The Group returned to St Richard’s Church Hall in 2005 because Wavertree Road as a meeting place was no longer viable.

The Group has gone from strength to strength over the years with around 90 youth members. We currently have four sections – Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, all of which are supported by a group of young leaders.
