FAQs

How do you manage our data and how can I help to keep it up to date?

As with most Scout groups, we use an online system called Online Scout Manager, you will be sent an email invite when your child joins the group allowing you to login and both view and update their information as well as see their badge progress and programme.

It’s a good idea to login once a term and check all the information is up-to-date particularly with regards to emergency contact information.

Where do all those badges go?

Badges fall into a few broad categories: uniform badges, occasional badges, badge blanket badges.

Uniform badges are those that are either earned through attending activities and events or those given out when they are invested.

Occasional badges are ones that are worn for a set period of time, usually on the upper left chest near the shoulder, for occasions such as the Queen’s Jubilee, Remembrance Day.

Badge blanket badges are those that come from camps, visits to interesting places or just fun badges that we do as part of our usual activities, these would go onto a wool blanket as a keepsake. Badge blankets are usually made from heavy wool such as these and are sometimes made into ponchos for wearing around the campfire to keep warm.

How can I help support the group?

There are two ways to help us, firstly by joining our team of volunteers either in one of the sections or by being part of the trustees committee.

The other way you can help us is by fundraising either directly or by organising fundraising activities for the group.

We now have our own fundraising page through which you can donate, click the button for more information:
